What this tour is about: This is a relaxed afternoon at a private estate near Amber Fort to get away from the noise and bustle of city life. You can go on elephant-back safaris through the nearby countryside and enjoy a well-laid out buffet lunch at the Camp. If you’re going later in the day, you can have an excellent high tea. The bar is open through the day.

The Aravalli hills are the oldest mountain range in India, formed by a Precambrian geological event 4500 million years ago. The elephant safaris are conducted in the Aravalli forests surrounding the camp and follow a route through villages, agricultural fields, hills and old monuments. Birdlife in the thick forests is thriving. Antelopes and jackals are in abundance. Although panthers inhabit the jungles they are not sighted during the day. Occasionally the hyena and the wolf have been sighted by guests.

Tour Details: This tour is best done as a lunch break after a visit to Amber Fort. The estate is a 20-minute drive from the fort. You will be transported from the Fort to the estate and can freshen up with cold towels. You can relax with a beer or G&T, watch the elephants coming in and enjoy the beauty of your natural surroundings. The elephant safaris last between 30-45 minutes. A hot buffet lunch is laid out, usually with excellent Indian fare. If you have any special dietary requirements, please let us know in advance so that we may accommodate it. We will drop you back at Amber Fort or your hotel at the end of the visit.

Duration: 2-3 hours, including transfers

Cost: Rs.6000/- per person for a minimum of 2 persons. Includes transfers from/to Amber or your hotel, cold towels, welcome drink, elephant safari and lunch. Soft drinks and beer are included in the price; however you pay separately for other alcoholic drinks.

What to wear: Please ensure you have adequate sun protection. Bringing binoculars is a good idea if you’re interested in birds.
